Safe to run Hotspot Widget while plugged into charger?

I know the hotspot widget uses a lot of battery power (I'm unrooted right now). When I do root it tonight, I know there's an option in network settings that allows me to configure the hotspot without this widget. But while it's plugged in and running (I'm running the hotspot for my iPod), is it safe?

I do believe it is blocked from settings. The options are there, but they are disabled.

Strange, well I saw it on my friend's rooted Optimus V in the settings, he's running Gingerbread. Then again it might also not work. Oh well.

It is in the settings, but it is blocked in the stock rom because it is not support by Virgin Mobile. Gingerbread is not the stock rom. Regardless of which or what you are running it is against your TOS and it is the reason the throttle is going to happen and VM can close your account for using it.

Understandable. For the sake of not risking my account being closed down... I'll remove the hotspot widget. Thanks for the info, btw.
