Help Safe to update?

ZTE Grand x Max+, I've rooted but only removed bloatware, no system files. Now getting firmware update notification.

Don't perform an OTA update as it will fail. You'll need to update manually once rooted.

Thanks Jay...how do I turn off the constant notifications for the update?
I have settings for notifications, but if I disable it I'll not see any at all for any apps?

This is tricky.

Providing you have not downloaded the update, when the notification appears press on it for 5 to 10 seconds and you should have the option to disable the notification.

However I believe it will turn itself back on if you restart the device.

Nothing works to disable the notification. I close it, I choose no notifications for all apps, or updates, and this ZTE just pops up again and again.
I'll just have to learn to live with it for now. Reboot, shutdown, same issue.
UPDATE: So I chose update, it did its thing and said: Image mismatch, it aborted and all seems fine for now...

I told you it was tricky.

Since you are rooted you can install the below app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice

You need to fire that app up and look for:

SystemUpdateService Under Google Service Framework and unselect it.

I have not used this app, so cannot gauantee it works tho.

Curious if FlashFire would work with the ZTE and install the OTA? Worked flawlessly on my Nexus 9.
