Root Safestrap Question..... Boot Loop

Lucidot

Android Enthusiast
So I'm not new to rooting or installing ROMs as I beat my old Tbolt to death, but I am apparently very new to screwing with a Moto phone.

I have it rooted and have SS 2.11 installed. All is good. Maybe not. Lol

I enabled safe system and tries to reboot and it just keeps rebooting to the SS menu. So I disabled and all worked fine.

So is it safe to assume that I only enable safe to install a ROM then disable after installation?

No no. Safe side won't boot unless you flash a rom, but you must leave it enabled. There is no need to disable safe side unless going back to stock. It automatically makes a backup of your stock system so if you ever need to go back you just disable it.

Sweet. Thanks so much for the fast response. My heart dropped and butt puckered when it started boot looping. I just got the phone and all I saw was dollar signs.

Thanks again.

True story! SS3 is a little difficult at first to figure out what's going on, but once you figure it out, it's waaaaaaay better, UI wise, and you get more "slots" for ROMs

Maybe I'll be able to flash ROMs again with SS3. I can't get ANY ROM to hold for more than a week since ICS (yes... fastbooted... FR... etc).

Maybe I'll get daring ;)

safestrap not only is safer to use once installed Nd easier to switch between roms, it also acts as a ghost kernel which allows some newer roms to process, install, and function properly.

So all I have to do is disable safe and my phone will revert back to rooted stock right?
