Safety Remove and Updation version in my Android device how ?

yesterday i bought a new huwaei E173 data card and HCL me v1 tablet, its working perfectly, but i want to know how to safety remove this data card & pendrive from my HCL me v1 tablet ? and how to update my android version ICS 4.0.04 to jelly bean is it possible ?

The data card is a 3g modem, not a flash storage device, so you can safely remove it at any time, though I would recommend to switch off the tablet first.

Can't answer your firmware upgrade question, because I don't have any experience with this model. But usually you find the Update Firmware in the Settings menu under About Device.
