android version sais it is 4.2.2, but after tapping it it shows 4.0 ICS. can anyone explain this? phone's display is very clear but not smooth and like liquid.. may this be reason? thanks

Is this a S3 or S4 ?? This would be best asked in the Galaxy section, once you advise, I will move it there for better support And which Carrier ??

The GT-I9300 is the S3.

Where did you get the phone? Is it a clone?

I'd hazard a guess and say it is running ICS, but been tweaked to make it look like JB. Unless it is actually a genuine S3.

Folks in the S3 forum will be in a better position to help though (They'll be able to tell you if that's a genuine baseband/kernel).

You could try running this app which should hopefully tell you the actual version and hardware inside the phone. Does seem weird that it says 4.2.2, although from your screenshots it doesn't look like it's running a Touchwiz ROM, so that must be a custom ROM of some sort
