Sam kies, "not connected to net" error fix

Im trying to root my gs2 boost, Trying to install Kies as intructed, But each time, it says im not connected to the internet. op is win 7 ultimate, tryed wifi and wired, as well as foxfi from the gs2, and stopped firewalls and antivirus, and ran it as admin. anyone got a fix?
 
wont install is the problem, tried from the root guide and the samsung official site, it gets halfways and then says "your not connected to the net*
 
you should be connected to the net when installing it. Sounds like you may be having pc issues, how are you connected to the internet?
 
you do have the exploit option for Rooting, but you should have kies on your pc in case you ever need the pc to recover from a bad flash

hmm updates? as in kies? I already have it installed so I can't test this but I can look to see if the kies file is newer than the one I have downloaded.

The link in the root guide stickied at the top of the forum is giving me the same file as I have now when i click on the link to download it. Is the install checking for an update when you go to install? If so then shut down your internet connection before trying to install it.
