Samsung account pop-up

It gives me Samsung Capture, Samsung Internet, Samsung Members, Samsung Pass - all of which I've already disabled; and Samsung Health, Samsung Notes, both of which I use, and Samsung Max and Samsung Themes, which I don't know about. There's not a Samsung Account.
Would I have to disable all of these?

you would have had to set up an account for there to be one, but the phone will still nag you to sign up for an account...

So, if I had done (and I might have done - I've had Samsung phones for nearly 10 years), how do I get out of it? It's driving me mad. I get at least two pop-ups when I log in in the morning and then they keep coming throughout the day.

All you see is "Samsung account - Tap here to use your Samsung account"
When you do, you are taken to the sign-in page where you are asked to agree to various terms. The screenshot here shows what they are. And a tricky lot they are. They appear to give you the option of opting-out of some BUT at the bottom you have to click on "I have read and agree to ALL of the above" (my caps), which means that you can't opt out of anything. Doesn't make me any fonder of Samsung.

Oooooh see a screenshot is worth a thousand words!!!

That’s the nature of things these days. Its not just Samsung. At least samsung is showing you what they want to do and how they chose to use the data. I just opted into everything because none of my data is secure and I’ve nothing to hide, but thats me.

Seems, in samsungs eyes, In order to get the full experience of the device, you need to agree, otherwise you will be nagged and you may even experience limitations in certain functionality.

Maybe the note 8 is just not for you of you wont agree to those terms. I agre with you that they are tricky. But anything online “in the cloud” is not safe from anything.

Just look at your car insurance or home owners insurance. Look at what you agree to give up whilst using gmail or on ebay, or on any website.

Not trying to turn this discussion into a cyber security discussion, but other than agreeing to those terms, its going to continue.

Perhaps why you see it is when you , or the device, wants to access some data that has rot be agreed to by you in order for that “function” to work properly.

I mean you can reach out to samsung and ask them directly how you can suppress this nag screen , but perhaps you may not have any other recourse.. maybe rooting and/or disabling Knox, but im not sure if even that would prevent it.

I’m having the same issues with ads popping up at random times! I did a lot of research and found out I may have a malicious app so I turned my phone on safe mode, scanned my apps and found two! I don’t know if this is going to fix my problem but I’ll find out soon I’m sure. I switched from apple to android since everyone said it was better, pft, I’ve had more problems in a short month than in 10 years with my iPhone.

Hope this helps.

You are new to android, so its understandable you may have some difficulties.

Ive been on android since its inception and never had a rogue app or malicious app installed on any of the 20+ phones I’ve had over the years. These phones are not just a revision of the same phone (i.e. iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6, etc), but different brands and differences in the kernel and OS as a result of that.

There is a learning curve leaving Apple to android. Your concern is not related to this thread at all as the OPs issue is with giving away certain legal permissions with an official OEM app for data use on the phone.
