I've just bought a Note 3 and set up a samsung account with one of my email addresses. Now I cannot set up an email account for that address on my Note 3. Any suggestions please ?
 
Where did you set up that "Samsung" account? If at the Samsung site, that has nothing to do with the phone. If on the phone, you can only set up one account for each address.
