I can guess the replies. I am new to the Galaxy S and Android. I was looking for the live wallpaper that I had initially on the phone but coud not locate it on the phone itself, i therefore went to the Samsung Apps icon and was greeted by "Samsung Apps Update available, update?". I have over the past few months had some bad moments on my PC's when upgrading and feel very pensive about clicking onto the upgrade. What is the upgrade for? Am I completely paranoid about updating? I know "the feller is a nut"......

Its a very confusing use of the word updates. It actually like a little app store with free apps from samsung. Some apps are ok but also a lot of rubbish. You may still have the old version in which case you have to update the app to get the new version . Its harmless have a look and download any you fancy. You can allways delete them if you dont like them.
