Samsung Captivate - Kies Mode

By default Samsung phones connect out of the box in Kies mode. I've found it best to change the setting by going to (sorry, don't recall the exact menu names) menu>applications>USB settings and selecting ask on connection. That way when you plug your phone into a usb port you get the option to connect in either kies mode (for system updates) or mass storage (for file transfers).
