Hi everyone.

I bought a chrome cast yesterday and it's great. The main thing I wanted to do is stream showbox on to my TV with it. Now I've followed the guides on YouTube and still no joy. The issue I'm having is as follows.

I've downloaded all cast app. When I select a show from showbox I deselect 'use internal player' doing this should bring up a box to choose which app you want to use but mine doesn't when I hit play it tells me that I need to download MX player.

The chromecast is on and working at this point.

I am using the Samsung galaxy s5 phone and the Samsung Tab S 8.4 the issue is the same on both and both are brand new so I have the most up to date version of the app.

Any help would be massively appreciated thanks.

Download Google cast from the play store, choose cast screen. Now anything on screen is mirrored to the TV including audio

It sounds like you still need to pair up your Chromecast with your home's WiFi network. Once on your home LAN, your Chromecast is auto-detected by whichever apps on your phone and tablet that have Chromecast support and its logo will show up in the upper right menubar of the app.

In the Youtube app for instance, you'll now see that little squarish icon. Tap on it and a contextual menu will pop downwards indicating whatever name you gave your Chromecast when you initially set it up. Not all streaming broadcast apps include Chromecast support but a lot do, and more are adding it. Just look in the upper menubar of an app to see if that icon is there. Also note you can use the Google Home app itself to mirror the display of your phone and tablet to your TV using the 'Cast screen and audio' option in its menu.

So get the 'Google Home' app from the Play Store, install it on both your phone and tablet, and then on one or the other use that to tie your Chromecast into your WiFi, the process is quick and only needs to be done once. (Note Google has been going through a weird series of name changing with the Chromecast app. Currently it's Google Home.)
