Yes, i have cleared the cache and data a few times but the icon reappears five miutes later. Also tried restarting phone.Have you tried going to the application manager in Settings and finding the clock app and clear it's cache?
Force stopped clock app. Icon went away. Came back 5 hrs. later when i went online. Phone won't let me disable clock app., only force stop. Any other thoughts.? I appreciate your help on this.I played around with mine and disabled one and Forced Stopped the other two. Rebooted the phone after a few minutes and the ones I forced Stopped, restarted. It's not my daily driver so I don't mind experimenting.
You can try and see what affect it has and enable it if needed and do a restart.
No. When I pull down the menu, there in nothing regarding the clock app., only the "Select keyboard" tab.If you pull down on the drop-down menu and tap on the alarm icon, does it take you to the clock app?
How do i attach a screenshot to the reply? Can you take a screenshot showing it?
Can you take a screenshot showing it?
Next to Post Reply is Upload a file. Select it and navigate to where the screenshot is saved and select it.
Is this what you are referring to?That is strange. If you click on the 3 vertical dot menu in the bar with the Samsung clock app message, what options do you have?
I'm gonna play around with my S5 Active some more and see what I can find.
That was a shot from inside the gmail app.In your first screen shot in the red box under the status bar.
Tried setting and deleting when it first happened. Didn't work. Thank you for all your help. I really appreciate it.Guess that was just a email alert.
Kinda got me stumped. Last thing I got would be to set a new alarm then delete it.
Hopefully someone more familiar with Samsung devices will chime in with a solution.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Wanted to let you know, I did a cache wipe in recovery but did not resolve issue. Bummer.Tried setting and deleting when it first happened. Didn't work. Thank you for all your help. I really appreciate it.
Thanks. I might look into that. I guess for now I'm just stuck with the icon until someone can come up with a solution. There is always the dreaded factory reset.
If it's that annoying and you don't mind the hassle of setting it back up.
It sucks that it is a system app and you can't uninstall/reinstall without root.
Package Disabler Pro at the Play Store will let you disable it and any other pre installed app that you can't normally disable. Might be worth checking in to but it's a paid app.
Thanks for your reply. How do I go about doing this?Hi, it looks like you might have to root it to get rid of it, easy to do and gives you more control over your phone. Phil
