Samsung confirms Galaxy S II NFC version for UK in June

I hope that this is true as I was a little disappointed with Samsung removing NFC from the GS2, especially with HTC saying that they would be upgrading the Sensation towards the end of the year. I personally don't mind the extra millimetres that the NFC chip will add to the phone; it'll still be thinner and lighter than most phones. What will be interesting is whether there will be both non-NFC and NFC enabled handsets available at the same time or will the non-NFC phones be phased out. Also do you think early adopter will be get the opportunity to upgrade to a NFC version?
 
If it makes the phone bigger, then I'm happy without it, and I'd never use it to pay for things, apparently you can use NFC to trade data between phones though, but I'd very rarely do that.
This phone brought sexy back even without NFC.
 
i think its a bit mean to say its not coming and release a phone then readd it and rerelease it, bit unfair on those that might want it
 
Ordered mine from amazon UK this morning, read that article first, cancelled order. I am hoping that it will replace the current price and the current will be sold at a lower price. Prices has gone up since launch. From
 
Ok, let me ask you guys all a question.

In the U.K have you seen any NFC enabled services?
This country is in such a state... nevermind NFC they can't even enable air-conditioning on the Tube. The Underground needs to burn down the whole lot and built with a new one ASAP.

U.K is soooooo slow at everything. NFC? LOL make me laugh. NFC will come 2 or 3 years later than everyone else. Just like HD.

I'm not going to use this in the UK after a year. A place which has NFC technology everywhere. Either way, now that this cybershot Xperia just got a photoleak, I might wait longer. I cherish my cybershot C510 a lot:D
