Samsung Continuum Vs. Droid X2?????

Alright well I had a Samsung Fascinate and overall was pretty happy with it. It was fast, had a nice screen, not too complicated. The bing crap and lack of 2.2 was annoying but not unlivable. Well it was stollen so now I need something new. I still have my $100 rebate card i got in the mail for the fascinate and i Notived that the Samsung Continuum is the SAME internally as the fascinate was but it's only $99.99 and has a smaller screen. I called Verizon up to buy and the guy pointed out the Droid X2. Apparently it was just released recently, it is on 2.2 but soon to be 2.3 (although i doubt that since they said the same for the Fascinate...). and it's Dual Core.

My question is. Is the Droid X2 worth paying $100 more for over the Continuum? How is it's battery life and screen quality compared to the Samsung? I want to get a phone by tomorrow latest.

I'd love to get a Droid Charge 4G but Don't know if I feel like spending that kind of money.... I can get a continuum for free....

I thought the Fascinate had a 2.2 upgrade in effect but since it got stolen ...

Yeah, I would go for the Droid X2. The sheer power and speed, plus a nice, well constructed solid body, plus a big and sharp screen. Motorola's screens seem sharper compared to what Samsung uses, though the colors are more vivid on the Samsung. Motorola seems more willing with updates and you don't have to use a PC app with USB syncing to do it.

Its nice you can get the Continuum for free, and that too is a nice phone, though the screen is smaller than the Fascinate (but the smallness means smaller sharper pixels too). But there is no price on the day to day enjoyment and productivity of a better phone. If it were up to me personally I would go for the X2.

Anyone else care to chime in?

the dx2 reviews seem to be luke warm. and their forum has a lot of people complaining about lag time and over heating. As much as it pisses me off that samsung will probably never upgrade the fascinate and continuum past 2.1 i think i might just go with that for simplicity and cost...

The Continuum is essentially the Fascinate with a smaller screen and a ticker. The X2 has a very large screen (relatively speaking). They are two completely different phones. It's like trading in a Ford Fusion (mid-size) and debating if you should get the Focus or the Taurus.

So, decide what form factory you want (small, medium-large, large), or if the hardware matters (dual-core vs. single-core). If you were happy with the Fascinate, outside of software updates, why not just get another Fascinate? The Continuum is less likely to continue to see updates than the Fascinate due to it being more varied from the baseline Galaxy S.

Only reason im considering a continuum over a fascinate it he continuum is 99.99 and the fascinate is 199.99. thats 100% higher
