I want to use Atmazz's guide for rooting, but first I think I need to update the Samsung device drivers. I've been having problems with USB ports in general, not sure if that will affect the drivers.
I have the orange Kies screen up on my computer and it says "connecting" with the animated circle and nothing seems to be happening. My question is: should my phone be plugged in to the PC while I'm downloading these drivers or not? At one point in my attempt, clicking on the troubleshooter button started out by saying, "DISconnect your phone before starting this method." So I guess I'm confused as to whether or not it's better to have the phone plugged in while updating drivers, and wondering why it's taking so long to connect.
ETA: I rebooted the phone, that worked.
