Help Samsung Exhibit - "not registered on network"

I just purchased a Samsung Exhibit from a seller on eBay. The phone itself works beautifully. However, whenever I try to make a call or send a text, all I get is a message saying "Not Registered on Network." I have searched everywhere for a solution to my problem, but whenever I find something that looks promising, it isn't ever solved. Here is what I have done:

1. Tried it with 2 different SIM cards that work in other phones.
2. Took it to T-Mobile store and had my SIM card replaced
3. Factory Reset (a few times now)
4. Talked to T-Mobile support via chat - nothing.
5. Talked to T-Mobile support via phone - nothing.

The phone does recognize that the SIM card is there. However, it just can't use it to get onto the network.

Like I said, I searched the internet a lot for a solution, but I just can't find anything at all. Has anybody found a solution?!?!?

I have exactly the same problem with my samsung exhibit 4G, using my T-mobile simcard ...
Please let me know if you find any solution

Count me in .. I am having the same problem. I also can not get my Exhibit to hard reset. I just keep flashing to the " Exhibit Tmobile " screen over and over for as long as I hold the Volume Down and Pwr Button. Any help would be appreciated.

Mmmm... I know this question was asked some time ago, but I don't see where anyone has actually answered it, so I'll impart what I've managed to pry out of T-mobile

T-mobile BLACKLISTS IMEI's of phones whose owners don't pay their balances; especially if they break a contract as well.

When a phone goes to register on the T-Mobile network, part of the registration process compares the IMEI of the device requesting to register against the blacklist database, and, if a match is found, rejects the register request.

Most customer service folks don't apparently know this; and I'm not sure very many tech support people do either. Apparently if you're lucky enough to get someone senior in tech support, however, you might get one who knows enough of the technical details behind the registering process to figure out the reason the request was denied.

I had exactly the same issue with a phone purchased on eBay, as well.
