Help Samsung Fascinate Calendar Sync Issues

I have a new Fascinate with 2.1 Update 1 firmware installed. I am not able to sync my phone entered calendar items to google calendar online. I have checked and it is set to sync my calendar but it seems to only go one way. Google online calendar is synching to my phone but not the other way. I have looked at other threads in this forum and nothing is helping me. I do not have some of the menu settings that are being asked for. Please help! Verizon needs to reload my phone for other issues and I have about 9 months of calendar entries that will not go to the online calendar from my phone.

When you create an event are you choosing your gmail calendar account or just creating it on "My Calendar". If you don't select the gmail account it will not sync to gmail.
