samsung galaxy 3 text issues

I have only had the s3 for two weeks but all of a sudden when i receive a text it doesnt make a sound to let me know i have one. All my volumes are ip, and the default notifications button has a check mark. What do i need to do? Thanks

I would suggest to do a battery reboot, by removing the battery and restarting the device.

When in your text message app, go to settings, and go to notifications, and change the sound, once the sound is change, hit the volume button to make sure you hear it, and save, see if that helps. If not I will link you up to your device forum for proper support and help.
