Samsung Galaxy A10 5g wifi not showing on wifi

i have a 5ghz wifi at my home and my galaxy a10 only shows my 2.4ghz wifi which is very slow so is there a way i can connect to 5ghz wifi?

If your 5GHz doesnt show up in your wifi list then this mean yours device does not support the 5GHz frequency
 
The first thing you should try is just restart both your router and your A10 and then see if your phone still isn't able to detect the 5GHz network.
-- Is this a matter where your A10 can't detect just your home 5GHz network, or is it not able to see any other 5GHz network (like in a friend's home)? If the former it could just be how the 5GHz band network is configured in your router, if the latter that indicates a problem is likely to be with your phone.
-- In your home router, do you have the 2.4GHz band and 5GHz band networks using different SSID names (recommended) or the same name (often problematic)?

It cannot detect any 5g internet, i spent so much to get a 100mbs net and this phone doesnt even support 5g i have to use 2.4g which only gives me like 20mbps any suggestions?
 
Try restarting both the phone and router. However, are your phone and router in the same room? Because 5GHz WiFi can be very much line-of-sight operation. Basically solid masonry, reinforced concrete, foil lined dry-board, etc, can really attenuate, or will even completely block 5GHz radio frequency.

Well there's no reason as to why your A10 doesn't support 5GHz WiFi so that's itself is a different issue.(... which is NOT similar in any way to 5G cellular connectivity). If you have upgraded to your broadband to 100Mbps, than it's probably a matter of buying a new router. The 2.4GHz band maximum is 450Mbps or 600Mbps so if you're only seeing 20Mbps, what router do you have? Is it an ISP-supplied modem/router unit or your own, discrete router?

Like @svim said. This could well be a dual band issue, most supplied routers are setup to run both 2.4 and 5ghz on the same SSID. You can tell if you do a wifi search and only see 1 broadcasting SSID even though you have devices connected to both 5 and 2.4ghz bands.

You may need to login to your router and split the wifi bands into separate SSIDs or get your ISP to do it for you. (Normally it is a simple tick box)
 
Mine is a different issue but still on 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz. My A10 used to link to my 5 ghz wifi, then it no longer did. Doesn't show as an available network.

I know it linked because some of the speed checks I did in May show 196 mbps. And going into my wife history, it shows I connected to 5 ghz but this is greyed out and shows "not in range".
Internet supplier engineer came to check yesterday. His laptop and both his phones showed my 5 ghz wifi network. He reconfigured the TP-Link router, but still no difference.
Was this because of a Samsung update? I cant pin down a date it stopped working on 5 ghz as I was away from home for three months.
 
I am having same issue on two TP-Link routers no 5.6GHz SSID's appearing. Does not look like any other local ones either. Had two OS updates so far and no difference.

5.6GHz thats the problem devices in this genration does not suppoet 5.6GHz yet they only supporty 5.0GHz

Do Samsung Galaxy A8+ & Samsung Galaxy A50 can support WiFi 5G? Thank you
 
The 5GHz WiFi band has been around for several years now, can't imagine a Galaxy A8 or A50 not being able to. I still have a Galaxy S3 (from 2012) that has no problem with 5Ghz WiFi.
 
Looks like multiple users reporting same problem in this thread. So it could be a general issue with this particular phone that Samsung needs to fix.

I've got several devices here, including a Samsung Galaxy S7, and they all have no problem with 5GHz WiFi.
 
I am having the same problem with a Galaxy A10 phone and Asus router. The 2.4 and 5Ghz channels on the Asus have different SSID's and I have saved the 5Ghz network login details to the phone but it just shows up as 'out of range'. 5Ghz works fine on other devices including a Galaxy Tab A6.

I have the same problem with my A10 my router is split into 2.4ghz(Which the kids use so I can control their wifi use) and 5ghz

I phoned Samsung support and the guy on the other end of the phone confirmed the A10 does, not support 5ghz.
 
Something that needs to be clarified is 5G relates only to cellular (5th generation, just as 4G was 4th generation, 3G was 3rd generation, etc.), and is at this point only just now starting to roll out in actual usage. So it's not surprising if the A10 doesn't support 5G as most phones don't.
On the other hand, 5GHz relates to a WiFi band and has been around for many, many years now. If your A10 cannot support 5Ghz WiFi networks than you need to take it into a repair center to have it fixed.
So again, 5G is not interchangeable with 5Ghz. The two are completely different wireless signals that unfortunately for a lot of people cause a lot of confusion because they share '5G' in their naming.

I will again say that my A10 did connect to both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz until there was a Samsung software update, after which it just connects to 2.4Ghz.

It must be an issue with Samsung software, but never had an answer from the company itself, just their customers, who, like me, can only guess at the issues.

Not quite good enough.

I phoned Samsung support and asked if the A10 supports 5Ghz wifi and they said the phone doesn't... I asked if there would be any software updates that would fix the problem
he said no amount of updates could solve the problem because its a hardware issue.
