Hello all,

I was using my phone and it suddenly blacked out without any warning. I thought it was just a normal crash and tried powering it on again but to no avail. The phone is a Galaxy Ace 2, running on Gingerbread. Non-rooted phone at that too. The worst part is I can't even get the phone to the screen with the Samsung logo, which possibly means I can't flash new firmware or anything.

Methods I have tried include pressing the home, volume down, and power buttons together(with and without the charger attached) and removing the battery for a while before placing it back again.

Any thoughts on this? And possible course of action?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a Samsung jig? If you're handy with small electronics, you can make one - it's a 300k resistor (or 3 100k resistors if you can't get 5% values) between pins 4 and 5 of a microUSB plug.

Or you can buy one for a couple of bucks on ebay - here's one.
