Samsung Galaxy Ace + 64GB MicroSD = Does it work?

Hi everyone, I plan on getting a Samsung Galaxy Ace very soon as I lost my old phone on a night out but I'm also very into music and I need over 32GB of storage for my music library, so rather than buy a seperate MP3 player I reckon buying a Sandisk 64GB MicroSD card for the phone would be a better and slightly cheaper solution.

But on several websites it is stated the phone supports 16GB cards (Not been tested with anything higher) But I saw a video of the Galaxy S II supporting the 64GB card even though it didn't officially support the capacity, so my question is, Will the Galaxy Ace support 64GB MicroSD cards and if not, will it be possible for the phone to receive a firmware update in the future?

That's like asking if a 500GB hard drive can fit 1TB data.
Of course it doesn't support 64GB MicroSD card, it's expandable only till 32GB

So how come people are using it in the SII and the Note? If you don't believe me check Amazon under '64 micro sd card'. The official blurb on the Samsung site says 'Expandable memory (MicroSD up to 32GB)'. So I don't think your sarcastic analogy works. I'd love to know if I can use 64gb because I have loads of music to put my the Ace.

Pujitjuneja makes a poor analogy. It MAY be more like "will a 500gb hard drive work on a mobo with a bios max capacity of 250gb" Then of course not but then again "Of course not" is a rather patronising reply IMHO. It may be obvious to you Pujit but it's apparently NOT obvious to the OP and hence the question.......

FWIW I would be very wary about trying a 64gb card in an Ace since there are many of us having Sleep of death syndrome which it's looking possible may be partly caused by sd card issues anyway. If you do decide to try it please let us know how you get on.

if 64gig dont work then it will probably be in my opinion due to software imposed limits.

on computers the only hdd limit is the lba barriers, there isnt usually set sized limits.

"lba barriers......" Fair comment, I've over-simplified it but in its own way the LBA barrier sets the theoretical maximum size drive. Alternatively we could rename this thread "the useless and inappropriate analogy thread....." LOL
