Help Samsung Galaxy Ace Battery Drains faster..

Actually I am not sure but everywhere its written that 3G is the main culprit to drain battery. To be honest what I feel is in early days, everybody seems to be crazy with the new phone. With the time being I hope battery life will be better, obviously we have to maintain the charging tips.

can u use gtalk or open emails using the connection of your sim cards (not wifi)

coz i just buy a new phone and its seems cant open up gtalk or even gmail or even the gps or google maps i dont know why ??

is it that my connection is not 3G >? but i am using my prepaid simcard (tatoo) and when i try it on my computer it has HSDPA signal ang got great signal but when i try on my phone i cant even open my email sucks man

im using galaxy mini and brand new please help ** i need to get it working so i can download things and open my emails .. pls help on battery i got bad news also the battery display performs a bugg

gmail needs to be configured but mine works fine. On Sat evening I had a bang in my car and inside an hour of calls my battery was warning me it was dying!!

I am amazed why everyone is having such short battery life.

I had my phone on for 3-4 days before charging it again and it wasnt empty either, I only charged it ready for a firmware update, after the 3-4 days was down to about 70%.

I disable gps, wifi, bluetooth, 3g, background transfer unless needed by something. Nearly all my calls I have had speakerphone on for.

As you state, you have almost switched everything off which defeats the object. A smart phone is the very reason people buy one, because of the peripherals. If you want a phone just to talk on, get a poxy little nokia or something with zero facilities. But as I stated in a different post/thread - technology is driving faster that the battery technology.

Well when i bought this i didn't know about this issue but after few days i notice how quickly it drains so i did some research on the internet and i found out Juice defender was app to save the batter i installed and i notice some improvement in battery consumption i managed to get 1 full day usage :).

I AM LOW user of this phone so i am able for my phone last maximum of 2 days ( i charge my phone on Friday morning and had recharge on Sunday night)

There some energy tips on here but common sense really helps

If your at work ( you can turn off wi-fi and GPS) You don't need it for a job if your job is in office since most employees use work internet. For those mobile job than your battery will not last but switch off GPS.

I always charge my phone when i go to bed i make routine so i don't forgot.:D

Thanks Bala, but I need the nav and gps for my job, but working on it. I do have a battery manager installed, name unknown at present, is the one you mention in androids market?

some suggestions would be cf-root as I noticed it has an option to conserve cpu usage power.
a cpu overclocker app which I guess you could use to underclock the cpu to save power.
dim the screen.
also my earlier post applies to anyone really, yes I mostly only use my phone for traditional phone stuff, but I have still gone on line with it in the market etc. I just always disable wifi etc. when I am done rather than leaving it on.

I agree on your point battery tech needs to improve, I was just stating I was surprised how fast peoples phones are going flat as I didnt observe it on mine. If my phone was going flat on a daily basis it would probably annoy me a lot.

I bought and installed Juice Ultimate, time will tell. Still unsure what settings to put it on, balanced was default buy at present have it on customise.

I am using free version and aggressive mode. I did some experiments and found it best

Same here i using free one as well and aggressive mode is rather excellent i can get a full day out of it but now i playing tower defence game it doesn't even last that long . i know

Thanks for the aggressive tips!!

Regarding the higher powered battery (5000) where can it be bought?

well my battery was on 25% 4 days or so after last charge and I fired up the camera app, 10 seconds into the camera rolling (with flash on) low battery pops up and the app closes. wow.

I have the same problem, I bought Samsung galaxy ace on 24th Jan 2012..
I used it, and it's battery life is so poor.

I used Nokia C7 before samsung galaxy ace, but his battery far much better than this Samsung Galaxy Ace.

so please help me out if you have any suggestions, otherwise i'll buy extra capacity battery.

Why are Samsung allowed to quote a battery stand-by time of 640 - 420hrs. When it seems nobody has been able to achieve this. I bought the Ace a few days ago, and with just about everything shut down I'm luck to get 2 days

Beats me? Maybe if you turn your phone off and leave it is a dark hole somewhere the natural wastage of the battery is that time!

yeah the advertised hours seem completely misleading.

The advertised hrs by manufacturers, can at best be termed as very complimentary :D But more likely are, frankly always wrong & misleading and should be taken with a ton of salt.

sometimes I do a battery test by going the whole week just using the phone for calls only (about one call a day using 2g only) with everything else disabled wifi, 3g, gps, bluetooth and automatic synchronization turned off and no games.
did this with 2.2.2, 2.3.3 and now with 2.3.6, will you believe it I get seven days out of battery usage? well it's true!
I have about 70 apps installed but I have also gone through the settings of every one to ensure not one of them is running something in the background, this is also important for battery life.

hey buddy, what did u do initially when u got ur new ace ?
you have to switched off and charge it for continuously 8 hours, then you have to start using and drain it i.e 0% of charge then only you "have to" charge it again............do this at least 10 times, after that you can put ur ace in to charge even when ur phone is showing any percentage of battery charge ................

Do you still need to do that on modern Lithium batteries??? I thought that whole "memory effect" thing was a thing of the past with modern battery compounds.

FWIW I get the feeling that all of the 2430 ma/h batteries on ebay are fake in as much as prolly standard 1350 units that someone has put a new wrapping on - the emperor's new clothes and all that! It seems odd that none of them are even branded makes.

Just my ha'penny worth.
