Help Samsung Galaxy Ace II Charging issue

This is for the galaxy Ace II X

I have briefly read some other threads, but not sure if this is the same issue. My wife has the Ace II, when we brought it home, I was able to charge it using the Micro usb cable, plugged into a rear port of my Octive Duo iphone dock. It worked fine, and all was well. Shortly after that though it will not charge off of that port, even using other cables, etc. I don't get the lightning bolt showing, and no charging occurs. If I plug the phone into a wall USB charger, some work, some don't, and yet all of them work with my iPhone. I know some say you have to have a certain wattage or amperage, to get it to charge, but most of what I have read, people still get the charging symbol (lightning bolt) but their phone is not charging quickly or at all. I am not getting any symbol, nothing changes, as if the phone is not plugged in at all. Certain chargers will work, so obviously they must provide more juice, but wondering why in the beginning I could plug it into any type of outlet or USB slot and it worked, and now it is Finicky! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) Any charger will, all other things being equal, charge any current cellphone. They're all micro-USB and all take 5 volts. The current rating of the charger will determine how fast the phone will charge. If the charger can't supply sufficient current, the phone will charge slower. (USB 2.0 supplies 100 mA.)

2) Most Samsung devices require the original cord (or equivalent) to charge. Using other cords may or may not work. If you used the Samsung cord the first time, and other cords after that, that could be your problem. Same with different chargers - if they're not set up the way Samsung does it, or using a non-Samsung cord they may not work. (That's the "all other things being equal" in #1.)

I used the 12" inch cord that came with the Octave duo speaker the first time. Now, I have to search through my cords to see which works. Once I find a cord that works, then I have to marry it to a USB wall charger that works. I can't even remember which charger/cord came with the phone...
But it's weird, most people report that the charge is slow, that basically it will maintain a charge, but not increase the charge. Ours, basically either works or doesn't work. No lightning bolt indicating any power going to it.

If you're not charging using the charging adaptor or micro USB cable provided then it's not a charging issue. You use other cords and ports at your own discretion and Samsung nor anybody else can be held responsible if things don't work.

It's not a charging issue.
