samsung galaxy ace or htc legend?

tan11

Newbie
hey everyone, i found the samsung galaxy ace to be quite a good phone as well as the htc legend. but i am struggling to make out which one to purchase, they are both the same price for me.
so it would be helpful for recomendations, plus people who have already owned these 2 handsets

except the AMOLED touchscreen, HTC legend has nothing better to offer, plus it will stay on Eclair.. so it would be a bad choice since Ace is getting a Gingerbread update soon...

oh rite, i was also wondering is there anyway to fix up flash and is the samsung touchwiz ui any gooooD?

Samsung touchwiz ui is not better than HTC sense but i assure you it's better than many others available and it is pretty user friendly, granted htc sense has its plus points but the wise thing here would be to go for the ace :)
As for the flash part (i'm assuming you mean flash player), the processor is ARMv6 and doesn't support flash, so you can't do anything for that, and based on my experience, it is pretty good even without flash :)

cheers for the help mate, so what your saying is things like iplayer wont work, but youtube is the only way to watch videos via the internet?

You're welcome man :)
Yes, exactly, although you can use skyfire web browser for watching videos on sites other than youtube :)

yes most of the times it has, but only the old version, they updated it to 4.0 and it sucks... new version just keeps crashing (on all phones.. i have also tried it on my girlfriend's desire HD), so i'd suggest you download the old installation file by a quick search on google ;) or wait for a better and stable release..

thanks for the help i think ill be able to survive without flash, and does this affect what apps you can download?? cos android market is like 250,000, but it says you can only get around 150,000

No, No, the android market also boild it down to whether your GPU and your hardware (mainly the processor) supports it, plus not many famous and useful apps need flash, i have installed almost every recommended (not by the market, by other websites) app on my phone and have not had a single problem until now with the latest version of skyfire

oh right, so flash does limit the choices. not very good. i think i will get it cos of the larger screen faster processor and more likely to get updates:);)
