Help Samsung Galaxy Ace Pc connectivity

yeah apparently kies works for some people with usb debugging enabled and some people it has to be disabled.

It only works for me with debug enabled.

also some people having issue with the debug mode saving, always changing back to enable. My phone does not have that problem.

I'm using stock 2.3.4 but rooted, maybe the version has something to do with it.

Hi,

I've freshly installed Kies on my Windows 7 PC, At first the USB cable and mobile got recognized on PC and everything worked fine, For the second time after plugging the USB chord in the micro USB on mobile and PC USB the PC is not detecting the mobile as well as the mobile also shows no USB device connected in Settings>Wireless and Network Settings>Tethering and Portable Hotspots.
I've tried
1. Setting the Debug mode off (Uncheck) in Development
2. Reinstalled the Drivers through Kies
I'm unable to backup any data also unable to sync contacts with Outlook due to the USB problem

Please help

i had this problem.

connected phone to pc with usb cable, turned phone off then back on and device was then detected and connected ok.

i have a problem..my app were automatically..after i install app2sd from the market..now..i cant install any application from market...anyone know..what might be the problem..??any solution to fix it..??

As I understand it if you just want to use as a mass storage device you wont need drivers in windows 7 and probably also not in vista.

When plugging it in, your phone will get a notification that its plugged in, if you select that notification you can then unmount the usb partition and it will then mount on the pc as a drive.

However you need the samsung usb drivers to use kies and software like adb.

guys, can you help me with this? Please! I haven't plugged my phone on my pc yet. How and what to do.

1. Plug galaxy ace to pc using usb chord.

2. Now what?

3. Will it prompt which to use? As mass storage or use kies?

4. Or will it automatically run kies and look for its drivers then have the interface of kies?

5. Did you turned on the usb debugging thingy? Don't know what it is.

samsung android mobiles will connect to pc only if kies is installed :)

update the version of kies
it works better on my windows 7 ultimate

Hi to all,
I am experiencing the same problem.

I am using Win7 Ultimate 64bits, Kies (v2.3.0.12035-16 - Downloaded 01/May/2012) and still cannot connect my Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830 - v2.3.6) to Kies.
Tried rebooting PC, changing USB socket (connecting directly to the back of PC), even running Kies as administrator.
It just connects my phone continuously and nothing happens.
I can see and browse my SD Card from the PC with no problems. Just the phone itself doesn't want to connect.
Also disabled USB Debugger, and no changes!

I have been using with my Ace MyPhoneExplorer FJ Software Development from Dec 2011 & before that for my SE K750i for 6 years. Works like a dream absolutely no problems. I use this s/w for all other jobs like backups/syncing/archiving/copying music to memory card etc. You will never miss KIES except for updating the firmware.

hello does anyone have the drivers that come's with the phone as i formatted the drive to root it and forgot to get drivers of it

thanks

Friends, I hope they serve, I after many failed login attempts, including Samsung's advisers on the phone, I managed a successful connection by USB. It is very simple, when the phone is connected by USB Windows tries to install drivers for it, and even the Internet looking for them, never manages to install two or three of them. These drivers are in the package that come with Samsung KIES when installed. Just go to the Windows Device Manager, find the unknown devices, click on each one with the right mouse button, then select the Update Driver option in the next window, choose the option to find the software on the computer, then give the search path, which is usually C: \ Program Files \ Samsung, verify that this marked the option to search subfolders and ready in seconds to identify and connect with KIES. OK, after facing similar problem, I have called the store I bought my Samsung Ace 2, and the sale lady gave me this solution and it worked perfectly:

1) Unplug everything.
2) Go to your phone 'setting' -> 'wireless and network' -> 'usb utilities' then press the button 'connect storage to PC' THEN plug in the cable to the phone & computer. Then you will see android logo and it will say USB connected. Then your computer will detect the driver. You will have to repeat these steps every time you mount your usb driver.

Hope this helps. I haven't seen any solution on any forum sofar. If it works for you, please report back too.

Thanks a lot Bernie.

I've been going round and round, trying to get my Galaxy Ace 2 to connect, using the USB cable.

Just tried your method and it works. :)

I think it's a shame that such a good phone cannot connect as easily as many other USB devices do.

Since carrying out Bernie's instructions, I've managed to connect my Galaxy Ace 2 without any problems.

So far so good!
