Help Samsung Galaxy Grand Slow Performance after JB 4.2.2 upgrade.

Updated to 4.2.2 today. Tried to do it thru KIES downloaded in 1hr 40 mins while installing it gave an error after waiting for about 45 mins I disconnected the USB cable. Had to remove the battery to switch off. After restarting the phone (I was surprised it did), I downloaded the update via WiFi it took only 43 mins & another 14 mins to install. After the main update of 488.67MB the second update 7.82MB & the third was of 67. Something MB. After downloading the file via wifi, it then offers you the option of installing immediately or do it later (which you can schedule) The 2nd & 3rd were called stability patches. I haven

Hello Everyone, my first time on here.

I also received the 12.79MB Improved Stability Software Update on my Grand Duos.

Has anyone out there experienced any problems after this software update?

Cheers
Andy

I have done these updates on three phones (mine & 2 friends) two are fine but one had some settings changed eg: ringtones set for individuals or to groups reverted to default, or spam sms settings got activated even though it was originally deselected.

Dont update by OTA just manually update your device. Just working well. When i took a backup and restored it all above problems occured. I just updated it again with the same update file it worked fine...Try to manually update your device...Try it...

Good day!

I'm on 4.2.2 for quite some time now. But I have received a 12.97mb update last Thursday and installed it then as well. Since then, my phone's performance was very poor with frequent lags and it sometimes overheats. At few times, however, it would seemingly work fine. I have never experienced this before and I'd like to ask your opinion before I have it fixed in a shop. Thanks!

Hi, good day!

Me too, I am experiencing instability after installing Samsung's OTA update last December 15. The size however of this update is 12.41MB. After the update, most of the apps installed failed to start or have stopped working that I have uninstalled them because the notification to close and send report keeps popping up. Another thing I noticed is the phone became so laggy as $#! that it takes forever to open the phone from screen lock. It so annoying if you're in a hurry trying to make a call or read some text messages that have just arrive. Samsung screwed up on this update. I hope they send a fix ASAP.

By the way, after this update the Build number has become:

JDQ39.I9082XXUBMK7

Baseband version is:

I9082DXUBMI1

I have updated my Samsung Grand Duos software to Android 4.2.2 and the result was that I lost the dual SIM functionality, only one particular SIM is functioning, and one Specific is NOT functioning, Any advice?

Guys just DO the hard reset i was also facing the same issue for furthur guidance visit youtube and in search column enter samsung grand duos hard reset and follow your phone will gnna work awesome after tht i did you can also try the same......

Um.. guys, if you happen to try above solutions but still got slow performance, you can try to install the latest adobe flash plug-in for android 4.0. Yes, google doesn't support flash anymore after 4.0. so download it from a browser, and install it.

I tried to play flash games on my grand duos with os 4.2.2, but the flash player told me to download adobe flash plug-in. It directed me to the web site, and I scrolled down to see the link for android 4.0, and downloaded it. Surprisingly, after installation, my device gotten smooth, opening gallery gotten much faster. I didn't expect it to fix my slow performance, but well yeah, flash plug-in fixed my grand duos slow performance on 4.2.2.

I got an OS update for my Grand i9082 of 198.59 MB today. After downloading it says that its a 'stability update'. I wonder if KitKat will ever come for this phone. Queries on twitter only get vague replies like 'stay tuned'
