Yesterday, my Samsung Galaxy Mini GT-S5570's back button and on/off button stopped working. I stuck with it for a day, but then it ran out of charge. I tried to charge it, but it just comes up with the battery picture, vibrates twice, turns off and repeats. It won't even turn on, as the On/Off button still isn't working! Please help! My phone is almost 2 years old, and nothing is saved onto my memory card. I really don't want to buy a new phone and lose all my songs and pictures! :S

Get a strong light and a magnifying glass, preferably one on a stand. Remove the battery from the phone. Look into the charging port of the phone very carefully. You're looking for tiny little specks of dirt that are shorting out the contacts. Use a wooden toothpick (anything metal can cause a short) to CAREFULLY remove them. (That center bar bends very easily and if you break it, the repair is very expensive.)

It could also be that the bar is bent enough that one of the contacts is touching the metal shell of the port. in that case, even MORE carefully, bend the bar away from the shell - the thickness of a hair is far enough.
