Samsung Galaxy S 4 hits the FCC in MetroPCS

I just posted,

WooNHoo! The FCC approves the Metro version S4!So whacha say Metro, Labor Dayish? ;)

to their Faceplant page.

That oughta wake their asses up.

Maybe they'll come out of the water and bite. :D

Bruce in Ocala, FL-If you don't ask, ya can't get

Metro's S4 and no GSM mode?

Prepare for the barrage of "Will my S4 work with T mobile when the merger takes place". lol

Yes I just noticed that maybe the article does not have all the info this phone is either hspa ready or it makes no sense metro's last cdma phone was just released so I'm guessing they don't have all the inside info although it talks about 4=different bands of lte which I like

If we have learned anything about Metro PCS it's that you can't believe ANYTHING until the damn thing is released. I shutter and twitch at the thought of going back to the pre-S3 release threads and speculation. lol.

Lol I hear you let's see it should come out around may but I'm guessing it's a gsm phone or at least capable

Maybe they are doing something like the note II and have the HSPA bands there just off by default and issue and ota update once the merger is complete. Just my thoughts :p

The note 2 was submitted to the FCC as compatible with those bands they would have to go through the whole process of resubmitting this one.

The 4 Bands of LTE in the MetoPCS S4:
Bands = Spectrum type = Frequency = Carriers
Band 2 = PCS = 1900MHz = C Spire, MetroPCS
Band 4 = AWS = 1700/2100MHz = AT&T, C Spire, Verizon, Cricket, MetroPCS, Tmobile
Band 5 = Cellular = 800MHz = only carrier that uses it is Sprint just because it's a subset of there larger bands which is in whole 5, 6, 18, 19
Band 12 = 700MHz A block = US Cellular

things i would take into consideration to decide whether or no i would buy the s4 is simple cpu info hasn't been released yet no one knows what our american variant will have. also i know the display is a lil bigger thats not important to me now. ram/ internal space could be a important . seems like thinking about it now theres no real reason to even upgrade unless it came with the exynos cpu doing the 8 core or aka big and small core thingy whatever they called it. and if it came with key lime. then shit i would sell mikey's pokoemon card collection and go all out. :D

Makes sense kid I agree how you been bud did you get a new phone or still waiting

In all honesty I was a little disappointed with the S4. But I get why Samsung does what they do with this phone in that it's their bread and butter. But I personally think they got a little too "gimmicky" on their software with this phone. Because there is plenty of phones you can get that have equal specs so it would leave one too assume that you would buy this phone for their "features" (gimmicks) (software). If you were someone that didn't know or care about the actual hardware that is.

I personally can't decide whether or not I like where Samsung is headed being that they obviously know the hold they have on android. Hell, android was never even mentioned at the UNwrapping, it was displayed on the screen at the end.

That worries me. But I'm a hardware guy not a software guy so I'll never be in that particular "in" crowd. Lol

On a side note LG is a force to be reckoned with. I've said this way before my N4 purchase so don't go there. Lol. Seriously though, Motorola? Done. Nokia? Negative. HTC? Hanging on buy a thread but with a large percentage going to Apple I don't know how long they will last. LG is the only company that can even think about keeping android a float if sammy decided to go their own way. I personally hope LG builds the next Nexus and it remotely comes close to the specs that are rumoured. Turning me on just thinking about it. Lol

With their bootloader always being locked if your thinking of keep a stock device then that would be okay. My only lg device has been the esteem we were lucky to have gotten the bootloader unlocked but if not wasn't for that our fond memories and experiences wouldn't have been so bright.

Yeah I'm speaking about the masses which I assume cares not about messing with their phone. If they know enough to know what a bootloader is, I'm sure they would know how to unlock it.

And the current top 5 or 6 popular LG phones have unlockable bootloader support. More I'm sure but I just know about these. But having a locked bootloader I think is irrelevant because any popular phone within the past 3 years would have an unlockable boot loader.

If the esteem had a locked boot loader, you don't have faith that someone would have unlocked it? Is there a phone out there that has proven to be 100 percent unlockable? Guess I could Google it. Lol I'd hate to own that phone though if so. Lol

I predict that if this is really true that Metro is getting the S4, and its pretty funny its their version that is found on the FCC first. I FULLY expect a sale on the S3 VERY soon to help dwindle down inventory.

Could a T-Mo S4 work on Metro's network?

If yes, it wouldn't require FCC aproval for them to change the phone markings to Metro IF the merger is voted in.

Maybe the only base left to cover is a Metro S4 if the merger is turned down.

lol tell that to the lg motiong subforum they dont have a bootloader unlocked yet... but yea nothing is secure 100% but very few are willing to release encription keys much less try to hack it to get it open. whats his name that helped pg with the esteem on zvd hes a pro at what he does and usually doesn't release such exploits open and freely. i only know these things since shabby spoke about him to me. the motion still doesn't even have a unlocked bootloader yet they are using bootstraps instead. anyways moral of the story we have two groups that dominate the playing field the modders/tinkers and the novice basic users that just make calls, txts, check emails and thats all. since this is a forum based on doing much more than just basic uses its safe to say here that majority of us don't want a basic phone with shit locked on it.

man makes me wish i never bought the s3..since it took forever and metro is getting the s4 much sooner to it's release..i'll probably sell my s3..

Maybe in the usa we will always get watered down version of things from cars to electronics

Nah we get the snapdragon 600 but European consumers will have the exynos then again my link says 70% of the first batch that are released...
