Help Samsung Galaxy S Calendar App doesn't show current date

got the Samsung Samsung Galaxy S a week back.
had an iphone earlier and the calendar app/icon on iphone always shows the current date. my Samsung Galaxy S Calendar App doesn't show current date. it always shows jan 25. is there a setting for the calendar app icon to show current date.

i'm sure there is a way. not able to figure it out. how can access calendar settings?
