Samsung Galaxy S - cannot sync Outlook calendar using Kies

I have a new Samsung Galaxy S and am having difficulties synchronising the calendar with Outlook 2007.

I have been able to synchronise contacts and memos with Outlook successfully, but my calendar is not transferring across at all - the.

In Kies I have checked "Sync schedule with Outlook" and have tried both selecting "All schedules", and "selected schedule folder". I have tried with Outlook both open and closed.

I assume synced appointments are supposed to show up in the "Calendar" application on the phone but the application remains empty.

Any ideas?

I do not wish to sync via Gmail.

No, unfortunately that does not work. The dummy contact does not transfer to Outlook, nor does it prompt an Outlook sync.

The 'add event' isn't meant to trigger a sync, it's just to get around an Android bug that stops the sync from happening initially.

No idea how Samsung Kies works, though from forum comments I've heard that it has problems. I gave up on the equivalent from HTC (HTC Sync) and use MyPhoneExplorer.

+1 for MyPhoneExplorer PC Suite.

Brilliant piece of kit that sync's handset to PC.

Contacts, Calendar, SMS, Files, call logs

You can download it for free from here:-

FJ Software Development

Hope this helps. :D

(You will also need to download MyPhoneExplorer app to your handset, free from the Market)

Yes, I realise that - I meant - start synchronisation of calendar happening by overcoming the bug.

Thanks, I might give MyPhoneExplorer a go.

Never ceases to amaze me how bad some of these "smart phones" are with their native sync applications. Ran a Palm for many years with no hassles; why can't others get it right?

I cannot believe a phone can be sold by a recognised phone distributor yet there is no one that can help us to do synchs. I have Kies it has worked very erratically I have wasted hours trying to change usb cables, different ports and I am still no closer to a solution many months on. I think KIES must be the problem I don't know what else to say

i have galaxy tab and i have a problem sync my tab and my outlook data. Since my outlook have more than 3000 contacts and the almost every field in each contact are fullfill, i can sync contact betwen my tab and outlook 2007 via samsung kies, but after the sync done, my outlook data are mess like the contact become double (from 3600 contact to 5500 contact) and the field phine number from work2 in outlook is changing to another field, and the job title in outlook filed is deleted afte i sync with kies. So frustating with this problem, because my data outlook now become mess up. Anyone have a solution for this?

I used to use desktop manager or itunes seems there is no problem because in desktop manager for blackberry i can set up wich field have to be read when sync and ther is setting "always read from outlook" soo the outlook data wont change

Maybe someone have a ckue for this problem, i discover in kies there is no setting for sync, the only setting is just take from wich folder the kies must read.

Thanks a lot
