Samsung Galaxy s II 1.2 GHz anomaly

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy s II 1.2 Ghz. First day of operation was good. The next day this phone began to drop calls. The signal strength meter indicated transient power signal levels even when standing beside a cell tower owned by our service provider! The strength would go to maximum then down to zero then back up in a rhythmic fashion. Obviously conversation during this is garblled and then the phone drops the call. Went back to sales rep, they replaced the sim card. Phone worked for one day then went back to similar problem. This phone was then replaced. Same issues in like manner. Neither phone could successfully connect with my car bluetooth interface. Some type of conflict I suppose. Have contacted service provider and their technical support. They could not understand the issue and suggest we turn this phone in for repair. This phone could see our Wi-Fi router but could not log on. A very undependable phone despite all the hype about it. Has any one had similar frustrating issue and how are they resolved? I need this phone for health support. Very disappointed in this phone and problems I have had. Other phones, Nokia and Motorola had no issues whatsoever.
