Samsung Galaxy S II upgraded to 1.2GHz?

Theres nothing available right now the Galaxy S struggles with so I'm happy to wait if they can make changes for the better. :)

I can annual upgrade at the end of the month, or wait until December to upgrade contract free. Doesn't matter to me. No hurry here as my Incredible is fine. This phone is well worth waiting for IMO.

It seems the phone is delayed until June. That sucks.

That's pretty much when every other phone is coming out so...
Plus it'll be worth it. Let's hope the US get's lucky with the Exynos. I'm not over hyped with the Tegra performance on these latest phones. Could just be the hardware in general from these other manufacturers . Sammy has the best if you ask me. They all are built on the same platform. Tegra is a stand alone beast that was thrown into a phone on a UI that wasn't built for Dual. I think Ice Cream will take care of that though. Yea, the SGSII has the same OS(minus the skin) but the hardware has chemistry.

Not that it's a big problem and I am excited as much as you gents and ladies, but why is there a new thread for every little thing changed about the phone? Unless it's a big topic based on one thing I would understand, but I kind of think this is general about the SGSII. Why not bring it up in a thread that is talking about the SGSII period. I'm sure they are mentioning it as well. Maybe when the phone comes out it'll be a little more organized.

The processor speed is idd confirmed.
But a source from XDA who has a source at Samsung still confirms the release date
5th/6th May in the UK that is...

Makes the wait all the more worth it!! Also, if they are stil tweaking it they may add some more awesomness to it in the process. I wish I could have it right now...but....I can wait!

All the recent posts I've read on XDA (couple of hours ago) confirm that the delay is at least until June everywhere. :(

I just wished it was out now rather than increasing the spec every so often. It sounds abit like Duke Nukem Forever :P

I think they announced it a little to early to be honest, the model they have shown and that has been benchmarked by some sites does not represent to final version and probably did more damage than good.

I'm betting the Exynos will be used in the US models and here's why... The two big carriers, AT&T and Verizon, will have Tegra 2 models in circulation and the best way for Samsung to differentiate is by dropping in their own processor. They'll save the Tegra 2 models for markets that don't have a Tegra 2 model from another manufacturer to compete with.

Makes sense. I can see that happening. I guess we will have to see. I am curious as to how they will make the successor to the Epic having a 4.27 inch screen. They may lose the keyboard period. I won't mind. It'll be very thin if so. The NS4G is doesn't stand out from size to the original NS. Most people think it's the same size but it's actually a smidget thicker. So I do believe they can make 4G phones pretty damn thin. If any manufacturer it's Sammy

I'd think the delay is software kinks or other issues and the speed bump was always planned and now used prudently to appease angry consumers. If they throw in an extra back cover that's different and nifty, my ire will be satiated. ;)

I think this speed bump to 1.2ghz is good move for them in terms of marketing. I'm sure that Exynos is potent enough even at 1ghz, but when people see 1.2ghz snapdragon 8660 on phones like Evo 3D a lot of them would think it's faster without researching benchmarks.

Alien technology!!!
We're gonna reach a singularity soon...

Yeah Def a marketing strategy. I wonder how LG is doin in sales now??
Have people decided not to get the Optimus 2x and wait for a more powerful dual core??
Samsung are experts at making people wait...

Absolutely. Depending on yield, they could probably even clock the Exynos up to 1.4GHz reliably, but I'm sure it would be fine even at 1GHz. With the fierce competition, it's all marketing at this point. But, hey, the consumers WIN no matter how you slice it.

We'll see when rooters get there hands on the final retail version.
I bet you'll see benchmarks with clocked CPU at 1,5GHz perhaps even 1.6GHz.
