Have a look on ebay.... Sgs 16gb is selling for 24.5k.. I would really recommend getting the 16gb version...

HTC's new phone Desire HD is getting around 2000 quadrant socres on stock froyo. I know benchmarks doesnt count much but samsung should really learn from HTC to optimize the software. Desire HD is going to be good except screen and battery.

ya i agree.. but then we have the good folks back at XDA who are doing a fantastic job at setting right the mess that samsung have created! but atleast they have given a fantastic screen which no developer could have done anything about! ;) and the reviews of the desire hd says the screen leaves a lot to be desired (pun intended :)) and a 1230 mah battery?! what were they thinking? unless its some new technology (which i doubt) battery is gonna be unbelievably bad considering the 4.3 inch screen..

I agree with you that XDA devs are there to help. But such a high end phone should work right out of box. No phone is perfect but atleast it should work smoothly. SGS is very laggy out of box.Another thing is that samsung is not trying to enough to fix the major problems. Still they have not fixed GPS problem. GPS gets lock to satellite quickly but once you start driving it starts jumping around. Thank god GPS is better in JM8 but not very good.
Also samsung is stubborn on using shitty RFS. I dont understand what kind of testers they have. This things shows that sammy is not committed on providing best user experience. They just want money. If HTC can do then why not samsung.
But i will still say that SGS is their best smartphone till now. I love SGS but these software bugs just annoy me sometimes.Lets hope samsung do something good in their froyo ROM.

Ya.. i know! and especially considering Samsung are spending 200 million dollars for marketing just the Galaxy S, they could have paid a couple of more millions to the developers as well to make a clean product.. btw i dunno why but im getting a good feeling about the froyo rom.. samsung for sure may be tracking the xda forums and since most of the lagfixes are apparently straightforward, they might have taken some cues already! they have sold far too many galaxy s to ignore the user base now.. hoping for the best :)

and my phone still feels laggy even with the lagfix! maybe thats coz im still using JM2.. but waiting for the final froyo now..

It would be great if we could record in mp4 format. 3gp is the worst format....creates unnecessary huge files. Converted MP4 creates same quality file in much smaller size.

Let's hope that Froyo will not kill our hopes :(

I am reading bad news on many websites. It seems samsung is delaying the 2.2 untill end of october. Its been officially delayed for spain and romania. I think for india also it will be delayed.
I dont understand why smasung is taking so much time to port crap touchwiz on froyo. Even DroidX users are getting froyo now.I will be happy to recieve just a lagfree stock froyo build on my SGS. They are just doing what HTC has done to HTC hero users.Anyway this might be my last phone from samsung if they dont fix lag issues.:mad::mad:

its seriously getting ultra frustrating now.. i read in some other forums that the new version and lagfix for the RFS change by samsung is taking time because there is a lot of quality assurance testing that needs to take place.. ya right.. which is why a shitty software was released originally in the first place..

and what confounds me is how difficult might it be for a big company like samsung to iron out these issues fast?!

Very correct. If devs on xda can develop a lagfix in few days, why not samsung. And now after so much time they are realising that the Phone has lag problems. very well done samsung.:mad:. I just pissed off.

samsungukmobile @ garyshort@ dirk1978 Thanks for your question, we can confirm that Froyo will be released via Kies at the end of this month 7 days ago in reply to garyshort.dont know what all is this looks like head does not know what nose is doing

I was thinking about HTC Desire before purchasing SGS. But I became scared after having a few talks with the HTC users in Kolkata. Their keyword is the phones are superb....run without any problem....but *if* it faces any hardware problem then the service is horrible.....we are really frustrated.
That's why I had to step back and purchased SGS

SGS has a very good hardware to support future update. Hope later it will fulfill our demands...I'm prepared to wait for that...but I can expect once they should release an absolutely bug free rom :(

I am really pissed off from samsung. Mate! forget about future updates.they cant even release 2.2 properly. Forget they will release gingerbread (3.0). Its irony that they will release 2.2 when 3.0 will already be released by google.:D:D:D
Keep it up sammy and after sometime nobody will use samsung smartphones.
