Help samsung galaxy s, mass storage Q

hi all im new to the galaxy s and although i only just got it i luv it to bits. just a quick Q wen i plug the usb cable into my macbook it doesn't pop up on my desktop so i can open the phone and load all my movies and images and music on to it.
it has 8GB of internal memory but no sd card, do i need an sd card before my macbook will reckognise it ????? cheers pete

No... You don't need to purchase a MicroSD card for your MacBook to recognize the phone's internal memory.
The internal memory is also seen by the PC as a separate disk drive.
Thus if you have a MicroSD card you will then see two drives showing on your computer.

If your computer is not seeing the internal drive it will be because you have not allowed the USB to connect.
Pull down the notification bar and connect the USB.
