Samsung Galaxy S on Sprint

1) Galaxy S a shitty device? lol probably the best specced smartphone out, Outdoes the iPhone 4 and pretty much every other android phone.

2) Hmm does'nt explain why then its sold out in singapore and has over a million pre-orders from europe. Also Samsung as you would expect is number 1 in korea.

3) Considering Touchwiz 3.0 has only just come out on the Galaxy S and Wave i doubt you've even used it? besides the beauty of android is most stuff can be changed. As for Gizmodo yeah they really know alot about android their one of the most Apple loving tech sites.

4) I've only seen hd video lag on pre-release software and maybe we should wait until we actually try this for ourselfs, Besides don't forget who made apples precious A4 processor in the first place...

5) This is the dumbest comment you've said so far lol so according to you Apple's 3.5 inch screen which is basically still just a lcd with led backlighting and a few more pixels is going to be better than one of the biggest breakthroughs in screen technology in the mobile phone industry.

IPS advantages = More pixels.

Super Amoled advantages = better Contrast Ratio / Viewing Angle / Brightness / True Blacks / and better in Sunlight / Less Power Hungry.

6) Yes all of them are wrong.

It's selling out because it seems like a solid phone and a lot of people just don't want the iphone.

BTW you are misguided in saying that I said that "galaxy S is a shitty device." I said Samsung has released many shitty devices (behold and the like) when they were make chips for iphone 3gs.
Lastly, I know Korean really well for many reasons. Samsung is losing market share big time in smartphone market because they were charging shit load of money for their Omnia line when iphone came along with easier and lag-free os and got destroyed. Number 1 now does not mean forever no 1. With consumer products, brand image is VERY important.

Its not all about specs but why would i pay so much more for the iPhone which is already outdated ? Yes if i am going to buy something expensive like a smartphone of course i want the best technology and whether you like it or not Samsung has it and Apple does'nt.

Samsung is not loosing market share infact its predicted to gain it.

You have'nt offended me but if your bored maybe you could find something more usefull to do than type all this non-sense.

1) Neither did i, I am talking globally.

2) Resolution that high is pointless over 300ppi and the human eye can't detect it, Plus upping the res and still leaving the screen size at 3.5" is plain stupid. Plus like i said Super Amoled is the future.

How is iphone outdated:

No DLNA.

No card slot.

No Wifi Tethering.

Crippled Bluetooth.

No FM Radio.

No DivX support.

No Adobe Flash support.

etc etc.

3) The Mac thing erm firstly thats the first i've heard about that.

I'll give my views on this as well since I'm also bored.

1. This does not seem to be the case with the Galaxy S. The specs are better than any other phone in my view so they don't seem to have held back here. For example, it seems to have the by far best GPU on a phone this far.
2. That's not the view I've gotten from Asian forums. I've only heard positive things, although it's always hard to judge if the selection is good enough to draw conclusions from.
3. Haven't had the chance to use TouchWiz 3.0 so I can't comment on that. I know that it's different enough not to draw conclusions about it from earlier versions though.
4. I heard that as well but I haven't heard how it has worked on a phone that's not filled with debug code. The test phones even lagged when they filmed in 720p, which the retail phone does not seem to do.
5. A bit odd to write "definitely" about screens you haven't seen. I'm of a very different view though as I don't think the IPS panel will be that special (I doubt the difference in resolution will be that noticeable on such small screens), since it's still using backlighting, which gives it an unimpressive 800:1 contrast ratio. The Super AMOLED will have true black, very vibrant colors, faster response time, lower power usage and should work better in sunlight. I think the latter will be significantly better. Apple also tried to get a standard AMOLED for the iPhone 4, but the suppliers couldn't meet their demand.
6. I hope they are wrong too, and I think they will be.

Those are features that Apple decided not to support because they are just bullies like that but not yeah.
DLNA: digital living network alliance is it? can you tell me what you do with this feature, really curious to know.
No card slot: for tech savvy people this is a down side but for average users 16~32gb is usually enough, not allowing the users to be able to open the phone is a plus for phone longevity.
Wifi tethering: yeah I get it but once again for average users that's why we have smartphones right to avoid using our computers, I see your point though.
Cripple Bluetooth: I will agree since I know nothing about it.
Radio: get pandora or something but if you must iphone is not for you.
Divx support: if you really want it just convert the file. But the market is going to a direction where they don't want you to download files from websites and such instead just get in directly on your phone (VOD and such).
Flash support: this one is big but who knows what will happen.
None of this is actually "outdatedness" just lack of feature and different direction.
I am all about open source vs. proprietary and that's why I support Android but iphone does not have high market share b/c of their features but mostly b/c of their usability.

Well too me not having all those features in a 2010 smartphone means its outdated.

Galaxy S does'nt have 300ppi no but most people don't even find todays screens with much lower res to be pixelated take a look at the HTC HD2 or EVO they have a 4.3" Screen and its a wonderful screen.

Like i said theres alot more important things than res and super amoled is better in all the other areas and like "Evil Peter" said Apple actually wanted Super Amoled screens but Samsung could'nt gurantee keeping up with demand considering they are already making the Amoled screens for htc phones and super amoled screens for their new phones.

DLNA means i could wireless stream media between my Phone / PS3 / TV / PC etc.

Ok for the average consumer card slot might be a big deal.

I understand this one of using the smartphone instead of having to go on the computer but they are still not at a point where they could replace a laptop and it would be handy having this.

Converting is tedious so the more formats the phone supports out of the box the better for us lazy people lol.

Don'T GET IT!!! i hate it when people leave negative comments about phones with wrong info :mad: and my theory is if u don't like it simply don't get it or look at it and don't even talk about it!! i agree with SMG and i believe many people agree with Smg rather than u so please don't post anything that u really don't have any knowledge of.. i don't think u have been reading to other posts because it seems like Galaxy S beats every android phones out there in the market and MAYBE i said MAYBE it beats iphone 4 hands down

Btw, have you checked shadow/extreme' benchmark, although it is just one test, clearly Galaxy S does not beat it.
I wasn't talking trash (yeah maybe about Amoled part, that I apologize). I wanted to know what people thought of it.

alright i respect that but u wrote something extra there saying for "narrow minded people" UNNECESSARY and yes i was looking at shadow but unfortunately i decided to never get Motorola devices after going through RAZR, CLIQ and CLIQ XT.... it freezes up on me every day at least 3~4 times a day after i get off from wifi area the phone drops the phone call if i'm on a call, radio signal disappears for no reason.... so i just decided to stay away from Motorola especially Moto BLUR (i heard Droid/Milestone is a great device because it has no Moto BLUR) and go with Samsung!!!! well i always have been a samsung person
