Help Samsung Galaxy S USB Problems

ok here is the short version lol - not a new phone but new to me - Samsung Galaxy S FROYO - when i plug phone into laptop i get a poopup saying "this device would preform faster if it was hooked to a HIGH SPEED USB PORT" - my laptop DOES have HIGH SPEED USB PORT WTF is with that ??? any (GOOD) ideas

I have an SGSL. I'd just think its your PC USB. I have a Win7 i5 laptop and it doesnt give me that warning, and I get high speed data transfers.

That's your laptop for sure, on my laptop the left hand side ports are USB 2.0while right hand side are USB 1.1

No it's not my Laptop as EVERYTHING else i plug in goes high speed (newer laptops only have high speed ports ) but.....NOT the phone. So that leads me to believe it's the ..... er um the PHONE.
Does ANYONE have an intelligent answer and not just an uneducated guess........yawn
