Recently bought this phone and am trying to change the ringtone to something in the media player. any clues, please???????????????????

Welcome to Android Forums!

Create a folder on your sd card called 'ringtones' if it doesn't already exist [also check for /media/audio/ringtones] and copy your audio file there. That will make the file available as a ringtone.
