Help Samsung Galaxy S2 keeps ringing

So my phone has started to ring, like if someone was calling me - just no one is - and it just keeps ringing.

If I call someone while it rings, the ring is still there in the background. It started suddenly one night and happens at random..
Didn't really install an app before it started happening.

What could be the problem?

ALSO - It did it again today when I received a text message - first time though it acted like this while receiving a message.
When I slide the top down (where you can change wifi/bluetooth/gps/sound and auto rotation) the ringing stops...

Just a thought...

Settings > Sound > Notification ringtone... what tone have you got set?

Failing that... are there any app's that you have installed that use a ringtone/notification tone? i.e. Messaging, email, etc:

After the automatic update to Android 4.0.4, my phone rings randomly several times a day and night -- very short rings -- about a second long.

My Sound / Default Notification ringtone is set to Pizzicato. The random rings I am receiving are identical to the Postman ringtone, but I can't find any settings that I have made to cause this problem.

These rings started sounding after the update to 4.0.
