Samsung Galaxy S2 Lock Screen security vulnerability (AT&T)

I hope Samsung and AT&T release an update for the Galaxy S2 because of the lock screen security vulnerability. If you loose the phone, it will be easy for anyone to get into it assuming you did use a lock on it.

Well, I've a unlocked SGS2 and I don't have this issue?

Is it only for the AT & T version ?

It is ONLY the AT&T version which has not been released.

I do not think it will be released till well after the Apple iPhone 5 so that gives them so time.

I do not use a password for my phone because it makes it a pain in the butt! I do use a software program called Keeper!

I highly recommend Keeper as it is like a digital safe that can be accessed across all the different platforms including, RIMM, Apple, Android, MAC and Windows. It will sync your passwords so you can get to them no matter what device you are using. It is not free but is well worth the yearly cost of admission to me.

This way I never keep sensitive accessible data on my phone.

Galaxy S II just went on sale today and I just got home with mine from Best Buy...

While this is definitely a problem, it has a very simple solution. Simply set delay for password application to immediately. If you do that, the timeout wont remove the password even if you just entered it correctly. Sure it is a pain, but there is a reason you put a password on your phone to begin with.

Hopefully it gets fixed soon, but until then, the sky doesn't need to fall on our heads.
