Help samsung galaxy s2

hi I have a sgs2 i put a t-mobile sim card bt the 4g doesn't work so i wonder is anybody can help me with this because i want to be able to use the 4g network. the phone is always in EDGE and one time i sow a G but i dont even know what it means..... can anybody help me plz???

well im not sure about american networks, but does ur t-mobile sim card support 4g? or at least wat they call 4g. secondly, it often depends on ur coverage, in some areas u might not get those speeds, G is the slowest connection (GPRS), EDGE is a bit faster.. i think H+ is the symbol ur looking for

I contacted t-mobile and they said that my simcard support what they call 4g BUT they dont really have 4g simcards.... so i wonder if is any setting on my phone or something like it

well thats probably coz wat they call 4G isnt really 4G.. its wat they call 3.75G i believe.. H+.. so it supports it, ur phone supports it, ur probably just not having a strong enough signal in ur current area.. that happens.

The international Galaxy S 2 does not support 3g or 4g on Tmobile if I am not mistaken, so that would be your problem.

Have a look in settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks (scroll down to the bottom) and check to see what mode you are set to.
On my S2, I can choose between Auto, GSM only, WCDMA only.
GSM limits you to edge, WCDMA gives you HSPA+, but maybe WCDMA is for 4G aswell, I'm not sure, I think you can't receive texts on WCDMA, not sure about calls.
Auto does them both at the same time and always gives you the best possible connection for the current scenario.

You may be set to GSM only, are there any other options there besides Auto/GSM only/WCDMA only?
