Samsung galaxy S3 keeps losing sound

Basically the title says it all. When I restart my phone I get the sound back for a while, but then I randomly lose it. I can't listen to youtube videos, hear my ringtones and notifications, and I can't even hear the audible touch tones when I unlock my phone. I get it back but then it goes away again. I tried tunein radio and it says that it can't start audio. What can be the problem?

Don't have that device(yet) but it sounds as though it is a defective speaker. Had one fail on the first LG Esteem I purchased after one month.:(
My suggestion- take it back to the carrier store where you purchased it- they should replace it no charge(that was my experience with the Esteem).
 
mine is having the same problem any update to this issue?as i searched around ive found out its a very common issue with S3..by the way i updated to 4.3 but still having this issue..

i will tnx..really its a very annoying thing to have this problem been doing factory reset most of the time coz a lot of time ive been missing a lot og messages and also some important phone call not knowingly my phone already got muted and when its muted i mean all media is muted even phone call no sound at all..hayyyyyy
