Samsung Galaxy S3 Quad vs. Dual

I have heard that the S3 comes in 2 versions: Quad core and dual core processors. I bought my phone from Verizon and was wondering if Verizon does sell the quad core processors, or is my S3 only dual??

The US versions use the dual core Snapdragon, the international versions use the quad core Exynos.

That said, side-by-side tests show that neither one has a clear advantage - the Snapdragon seems to do a lot better on data speed, but the quad core launches faster. It depends on how many cores the particular app is using. (Apps are written to use cores in a specific way - the phone doesn't just use the cores it wants to.)

It's the same with the Snapdragon quad vs, the Exynos Octo. More cores in the CPU doesn't necessarily mean faster operation of the phone.

Another difference is that the US version of the GS3 has 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB on the international version. Personally I rather have the extra gig of RAM instead of 2 extra CPU cores. Snapdragon's dual-core have plenty enough of processing power.

Yeah, I prefer my snapdragon cpu with 2GB of RAM.. cause I game and use other apps that a 1GB version would studder on.. like the Droid Razr Maxx with 1GB RAM my brother has... 1 GB ain't enough for us hardcore users.
