I recently discovered an issue with my Samsung Galaxy S5, so I thought I'd create a thread to see if you guys could provide your input. The issue that I am having is the stock messages app seems to be using nearly three times the amount of data than the actual size of the message I am sending. I am providing some pictures to help explain the issue in detail:

The above screenshot shows my starting data usage with the Messages app: 25.87 MB.

This screenshot shows that the size of the picture message I am about to send is only 112 KB.

This screenshot is confirming that the size of the picture message sent was 112 KB.

This last screenshot now shows my total data usage in the Messages app being 26.20 MB.

My math might be wrong or I just don't know what I'm talking about, but doesn't that mean that 0.33 MB were just used to send a picture message that was confirmed only being 112 KB? Isn't 0.33 MB equivalent to 330 KB? This is why I am confused and need some assistance. Every time I send a picture message, nearly three times the amount of data is actually being consumed. I've confirmed this with other data manager apps, as well as confirmed it with my service provider's actual data usage.
