Help Samsung Galaxy S7 intermittent freezing issues

Hi

I've had my Galaxy S7 for almost a year now but just before Christmas it started freezing requiring a reboot. It would then freeze while restarting and require rebooting again. Sometimes it'd make it to the lock screen only to freeze again, other times it'd boot up but freeze a minute or so later. Then it'd finally be ok for a few days.

I decided to remove the SD Card and do a factory reset of the handset. This seemed ok for a few days but then it froze again. Last night it was so bad I gave up until morning when it froze on the first couple of attempts but has stayed working since. At one point on boot up it showed an almost MS DOS looking screen with orange text code.

Doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing for it to freeze. I've noticed it while using Facebook app, Chrome, YouTube and Autotrader to name a few.

Any help would be much appreciated though I'm started to consider claiming on insurance for a new handset

Thanks!

I would try reflashing the stock firmware,And if you do decide to go this route,Be sure to remove sim and sd card as it will wipe them clean. When done flashing firmware,You can put them back in.

Thanks for the reply. Is that different to a factory reset then? I assumed doing a reset would have put it back to stock.

Oh and nice Stewart Haas avatar :)
