Help Samsung Galaxy SII Wireless

Hello,
Is the Wireless for Galaxy Samsung SII weaker than of iPhone's?
I was trying to connect to an open network at my brother's home.
I always connect to that network with my laptop, and my brother as well, his iPhone can connect to this network...

But when I tried to connect using my new galaxy SII, it said: Network/Wi-Fi is not in range.

I've never noticed any difference between them. Have you tried to refresh it a few times?

It's possible. But, you might want to test it at a few more places.

When you go to the settings/wireless & network/wifi, did it show any wifi networks? If there are more than one, you have to select which you want to connect to. When you tap on the network to connect, does it require you to input the password? You made sure wifi is on?

There are a lot of reasons why you might not be able to connect. Maybe the router at your brother's place requires a fixed IP or something. Can't really help unless you do a bit more testing and clarification.
