Help Samsung Galaxy SL very slow GPS Fix

Hi, I am wandering if any of you guys have problem with the GPS. I am using PAPAGO and it takes a very long time to get the GPS fix. Sometime it takes more than 20 minutes. If anyone got a solution for this please help.

I'm also looking for a GPS fix, this is incredibly annoying. My old Nokia could get a GPS fix in 10 seconds and my new more expensive android phone takes 10 minutes. It's no use for navigatine on foot in a city.

I tried both metods listed here and neither worked. Has anyone found a way around this problem?

is anyone here from India(mumbai specifically) if yes can you tell which gps services you use for navigation? are there any free gps services or applications??

3 Tips:
1. Tips from my friend is to switch off the papago after running it for 1-2 minutes and switch on back immediately.
2. Open the google maps and get gps fix before open the papago
3. Just set your destination in papago and press navigate...after 1 minutes the papago will detect the satellite.
(this 3rd tip have been successfully tried by me :)

I managed to get Nokia-like GPS six accuracy on my SG-SL! And its different settings from those guides!

By Nokia-like accuracy, I mean that I am in a room with only one window in the first floor of a 3 storey building. My 5800 with A-GPS gets me to within 20m accuracy in that situation. Needless to say it gets me spot on outside. However, even when outside, the SG-SL only gets me about 200m off position.

To achieve the accuracy given to me by the Nokia, I entered the GPS settings (accessible through *#*#3214789650#*#*) then Application settings. Set to ff:

Session Type: Tracking
Test Mode: H/W Test
Operation Mode: H/W Sensitivity Tes
Start Mode: Cold Start
GPS Plus: On
Accuracy: 50
Time Out: 100

Cool. Now I can use the thing for navigation. :)

tried everything... changing settings (in *#*#3214789650#*#*), gps aids, turbo gps...etc, i even tried putting foil over the antenna area, but still no success... yes i get position locks, but way too far from my real location! will this be fixed with the gingerbread update?
