Help Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0" sound problem

kartzima

Lurker
I have been using this tablet for a couple of months now, and the sound was fairly loud. However, after I decided to factory reset the device, the sound became considerably quieter. I tried listening to some music but it was barely audible. This is also happening with touch sounds, notification sounds, etc. I have to put my ear right next to the speaker in order for me to hear the sounds. Is there a possible fix for this problem?

This would happen to me for no good reason while watching a video. What I found was that sometimes the master volume slider would go down. When you press the volume button, the slider for the particular environment appears. On the right is a gear representing all the sliders. When I pressed it I found out that one of them went down. When I pushed all of them up to the top the sound reappeared at full strength.

I recall that my dad complained about this on his 10.1 when he watched his YouTube TV series.
