Lurker
Hello, I have a question. My phone has been nagging me to do an ota update. Mind you i am rooted on the stock rom and have TWRP. When i use ota rootkeeper and try to update it brings to the TWRP screen but doesnt install. It doesnt start nagging me until a week later. My question is can i manually install it from TWRP without bricking my device, and without going back to stock because i really dont like making backups then restoring it. Any help is appreciated thanks!

You cant do the update with twrp recovery. You have to have the stock recovery. Are you on vm or sprint? If vm look in "about device" and check your build and baseband and see if it ends in mc1 or mg5.
P.s. you wont be able to do any ota updates now that you have twrp recovery. You can only do those updates in stock recovery.

It says mc1 which is why im getting the ota to update to mg5. So how would i go about doing this update? Thanks

If your on virgin mobile . And running the stock Rom go to this thread and flash jerry's no props.zip. its the update but made to flash in twrp. If you're on stock rom you dont have to use g60s stock backup. :D

It doesn't include busybox and super user. So to regain root, afterwards flash this to restore superuser, https://app.box.com/s/kpcyefs3zrrdkmkghq5g . Then go to play store and get busybox installer and run it to get busybox ,( choose normal method) and poof you have update and root. Enjoy.

Yep just flash no props.zip then superuser.zip then install and run busybox installer. You wont lose anything, but always backup just in case.

Thanks so much madbat everything went wonderfully well. I appreciate your time and effort! Thanks again!:D
