Meanwhile, sounds like you've unchecked haptic feedback (or it was set to default un-checked by an update, etc). You'll find it in the main Settings menu for the keyboard and the screen.

Also, have a look in the Network settings to be sure the mobile network has not been disabled somehow. These things sometimes happen when more than one user is fooling with the device, or when an update for the operating system or even just some apps or widgets has come to the device.
