Samsung Galaxy

EJB986

Newbie
Our Galaxy A33 5G phones were purchased Sept. 2022.
They are on the major list for moving to the 4 times a year security updates only.
Does the 5 year update guarantee apply and updates will continue as normal for that period?

Now that the One UI 8.5 Beta is over, it seems that Samsung has found yet another way to p*ss me off.

Android Recovery has been completely stripped down to only three options:
  • Restart phone
  • Wipe data/factory reset
  • Power off

That's it! I can't even wipe system cache anymore!

Do any of you have experience with the Z Fold 6?

I don't know why, but I feel drawn back to the big screen and S Pen functionality of the Z Fold 6, which is the last model that supports the S Pen. It still has 5 more years of software support; and I found one, unlocked with 512GB storage, that had the screen replaced in December, for less than $700.

I'd sold my Z Fold 4 because it was too thick for a couple of phone holders on things I really don't use much these days. As a result, I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on this purchase. I can get the phone, plus the S Pen Fold Edition, plus an S Pen-capable case, for about $725. I'll keep the S24 Ultra for photos/videos (and as a "just in case" spare), but I'd love to hear from any of you here who have some experience with the Z Fold 6.

UPDATE:

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it, so I hope my love affair with foldables is rekindled. If not, I can likely get my money back out of it selling it. The beauty of buying a used foldable is that their value plummets as soon as the box is opened. They depreciate faster than just about any other tech out there.

Another update: my new Z Fold 6 is out for delivery... which isn't the best timing since we have to get on the road today for a VFW Convention in Pigeon Forge. Now we have to wait, hoping the UPS driver gets here on the early side of the delivery window so we can roll. That means I won't even be able to play with it until we get back! Heck, I might take it with me and put on the screen protectors, case and S Pen during my downtime; then do all the Smart Switch transfers over and move the SIM card after we get home. Now to think of a name for her...

I have finally set up my Z Fold 6 (her name is Jennifer) and she's a dream. Fingerprint scanner in the power button: remember that??? And the Fold 6 S Pen is only about twice the size of the S Ultra S Pen... much smaller than the Fold 4 S Pen. I have screen protectors and the S Pen case on it and, so far, she has performed admirably. I can't speak to battery life since I've spent the whole day setting it up, signing into accounts, connecting everything... but I'm so far very happy with the purchase.
